At the center of the Cider Mill property is our 150 year old barn, surrounded by 50 acres of beautiful orchards. We grow many different varieties of apples, providing fresh delicious fruit for baking and eating, with many varieties ripening from mid-September through October. Our apples are the dwarf trees that are easy to reach by you and your family.

Cider Press

We produce fresh, premium, unfiltered apple cider at our cider mill made from 100% apples. Our cider is pressed from September through early January, and available through our retail locations and other quality farm markets and stores in New Jersey.

If you have never tasted fresh apple cider, there is nothing quite like it. Apple cider is completely different from clear or filtered apple juice and our cider is “cold pasteurized” rather than heated in traditional pasteurization that changes the flavor. “Cold pasteurization” refers to ultraviolet light treatment, the same technology used to ensure water safety.

Cider Booklet Available

During the summer of 2007, George Melick worked tirelessly on a project to produce a 36 page glossy color booklet on the history of cider making in general and at Melicks Town Farm.

If you would like to purchase a copy of the booklet, please mail $5 to:

Melick’s Town Farm,
PO Box 73 Oldwick, NJ 08858
Attn: Cider Booklet

The booklet is really worth more than $5, but George is eager to share this information with anyone interested in cider making.
